Report on RF’s Japan Relief Project Activities

We, RF Co., Ltd. with our headquarters and manufacturing plant located in Japan, express our heartfelt sympathy to the victims and their families who have suffered from the devastating catastrophe and aftermath of the earthquake and tsunami in Northern Japan on March 11th, 2011. Immediately after this disaster, we launched the Japan Relief Project in support of the rebuilding effort. This is the report on some of the activities we have done by the beginning of May.

Providing "Doctor Car"

On April 15th, 2011, we drove our "Doctor Car" upto Iwate Prefecture to be used by Dr. Kondo who provides a medical care to the victims of the earthquake and tsunami in his temporary office.

From RF staff who visited Dr. Kondo:
“We can now take an x-ray image. We truly appreciate your support,” Dr. Kondo and his staff said. Even they are also the victims of this tragic disaster, they have been providing a medical care to local people. It was very impressive. We hope “Doctor Car” we provided helps their medical care a lot.

In front of the office. “We will not move out from this city. We want to rebuild our home town by offering our medical services and support to local people,” said Dr. Kondo MD. His young brothers, also medical doctors, are working together. A hundred of people visited them on the first day they started their temporary office.

Dr. Kondo took x-ray on himself.

He was checking on his x-ray image on the spot.

Dr. Kondo’s hospital was washed away with the tsunami, which surged up to the 2nd floor. Most of his medical equipment was swept away.

In the back of his hospital, the entrance is still blocked by a heap of rubble. He said that he had no time to clean them up because he wanted to help local people first.

“I am glad that my neighbors came back to the town now, a month since the disaster.” said Dr. Sasaki.

A red line in the hospital shows the “tsunami line”.

NAOMI system setup. On the 1st floor, the nurse staff searched their medicine from the mud. It was cleaned up and hardly recognized the mud was there.

One of the staff told us the tragic situation that she & their patients went though and current plight of other hospitals and clinics.
