The first office was in a tiny apartment room.

In 1993, Jiro Maruyama founded the company with his wife, Yuriko, focusingon CCD and wireless technologies.
We continue to progress into the future, with creating tomorrow by rewriting our own history.

1993

RF Building of 1993

Founded to become the innovator with CCD and wireless technologies based on the microwave.

1994

RF Building of 1994

Provided the wireless CCD camera, 「CD-5C」 to Tokyo University Nuclear Research Laboratory

Began the study on microwave

1995

Started marketing in broadcasting

1996

RF Building of 1996

Provided the custom made CCD camera, “AMR" for Atlanta Olympics

1997

National Space Development Agency of Japan adopted 「CMD-5C」

CCD Camera for self-timed photo booth, 「CD-6V」 800 units provided

Provided 「CMD-5C」 to nuclear power plants (with Hitachi Engineering)

「CMD-5C」 used to broadcast NHK Alpine Ski

Seized No.1 share in FPU category of broadcasting market

Started marketing in dental field

Arranged OEM production with Morita, the No.1 share in dental field

Began the study on wireless intraoral cameras

Started sales and advertisement with dental magazine

1998

Reached the highest number of units sold in the market with Miniature Wireless CCD Camera (8,000 units)

Started R&D partnership with NHK

Received the award with co-developed product, Kame-Kame Kun in '98 Technology Exhibition

Miniature CCD Camera, 「PRO5」 was adopted 2001 International Space Development Station JEM Project

Provided the custom made CCD camera to Nagano Olympics

Began the partnership with NTT for TV Phone Pheonix with wireless technology

Wireless intraoral camera satellite V series became the price leader

Began free upgrade for 「SS-100 ver.1」 users

Dental imaging software companies appointed the satellite V series as their exclusive imaging device

Launched DDS department with 2 years warranty and support system

Announced to provide free intraoral cameras to kindergartens in Japan to increase the awareness on their dental health and care

1999

Began marketing in security field

Successfully achieved to lower the cost on the intraoral camera with the same ease of use by wireless technology

Sold 1,500 units of wireless intraoral camera in 3 months. Rapid increase in the number of users

Seized 75% share of Japanese intraoral camera market with 4,800 sold units in total

2000

RF Building of 2000

Seized 85% share of Japanese intraoral camera market with 8,500 sold units in total

Wireless Otoscope 「SSM-21」 seized the No.1 share in Japan

Started marketing by direct mail to 65,000 dentists in Japan

Started the customized telephone service, 「Cnet」

Officially adopted 「PRO5」 as the camera for the rescue robot developed by Kyoto University

World's Smallest Wireless Camera, 「The Tiny」 was officially adopted by NYPD

Started to develop the Cordless Turbine CCD Camera

Started to develop the x-ray CCD sensor

2001

RF Building of 2001

The wireless intraoral camera reached 19,000 sold units in Japan

TV commercial started. (PR activities to promote health exam twice a year)

Provided the natural disaster monitoring camera to the Tokyo government for Miyakejima Island

Provided the unmanned camera to the ministry of Building and Construction for natural habitat observation on Usuzan Mountain

Veterinary/Medical Use CCD Scope, 「DPM-6F」

2002

Conference at SONY headquarters with SONY's chairman Mr. Norio Oga and RF's CEO, Jiro MARUYAMA

2003

Announced the concept of graduate school for medical equipment development

50 intraoral camera supporters started the activity

Started the development of world's smallest industrial 9mm inspection CCD camera, 「NRZ-100」

Started the development of peltier cooling CCD camera, high sensitive night vision color CCD camera, 「VG-100」, celestial camera, 「VG-200」

Established the industrial department

Published 「Project Norika」, Tokuma Shoten

2004

Published 「RF no chi (The Wisdom of RF)」, PRESIDENT Inc.

Train scope reached 1,200 units sold

2005

Started marketing in the industrial field

Started the construction project, RF Innovation Port (new headquarters building)
