Company History

Jiro Maruyama, the founder of the company, started the business in the rented room of a tiny apartment with his wife, Yuriko.
The company has grown and the number of staffs increased, as business has expanded to various fields. Over 23 years since the establishment, the headquarter has moved 8 times total in order to adjust to the growing needs for the bigger space of R&D and human resources attracted to RF’s unique spirit, and now it has offices, stores and manufacturing facilities over 41 locations throughout Japan.

    Nagoya Store
  • Opened the Stores with the showrooms.

  • Welcomed the actress, Maako Kido, as a visiting researcher, and TV commercial has started to increase the awareness of digitalization in the x-ray field.

  • Announced Capsule Endoscope, "Sayaka" and Digital X-Ray Sensor "NAOMI".

  • RF’s approach to increase awareness of the dentistry, Fifty intraoral camera supporters in Japan started their activities.
  • Started the R&D project of the world's smallest industrial φ9mm inspection CCD camera, "NRZ-100".
  • Launched Industrial Equipment Marketing Department.
  • Capsule endoscope, "NORIKA3" has been honored with Good Design Award in the new development design category (Japan Institute of Design Promotion).
  • Published "Project Norika" (Tokuma Shoten).

  • Wireless Intraoral Camera, "DP-6 ver.2" has been awarded as Best 100 Product and honored with AAA in medical field by CRA (Clinical Research Associates, the most prestigious non profit organization group that evaluates the dental products and dental techniques).
  • Conference was held at SONY headquarters between SONY's chairman Mr. Norio Oga and RF CEO, Jiro Maruyama.

  • Provided the customized CCD cameras for Nagano Olympics.
  • Started the partnership with NTT for "TV Phone Phoenix" with the wireless technology.(NTT: Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corpration).
  • The price setting of Wireless Intraoral Camera Satellite V series has become the market price leader.
  • Started free upgrade offer for the users of "SS-100 Ver.1".
  • Dental imaging software companies appointed the satellite V series intraoral camera as their exclusive imaging device.
  • Launched "DDS Department" with 2 years warranty and support programs.
  • Announced to provide 600 intraoral cameras to kindergartens in Japan for free of charge, in order to increase the awareness on their dental health and care.
1997
  • Space development agency of Japan decided to adopt our "CMD-5C".
  • Delivery and installation of 800 units of the customized CCD camera, "CD-6V" for Print Club.
  • Started to deliver "CMD-5C" for nuclear power plants (through Hitachi Engineering).
  • "CMD-5C" is adopted for TV live broadcast of the alpine skiing by Japan Broadcasting Corporation.
  • "GHz-LINK" has seized the No.1 share in the small FPU system for the broadcasting industry.
